I went to high school in this town and it was deader than a door nail back then. Everyone went to Palo Alto or The City for anything. Now a nice old theater is becoming an arts venue!

The 93-year-old movie theater, a mainstay of Menlo Park since 1926, closed in September 2019 — a fortuitous time to close, as it turned out, with the pandemic on the way. The plan was to renovate and reopen as a music venue, and now that plan is coming to fruition.
The 2022 schedule for the 500-plus seat nonprofit theater, announced Tuesday, Nov. 9, features a variety of music acts, starting with the Portland band STRFKR, set to perform on Jan. 18.
The year’s schedule features a mix of new acts, plus blasts from the past, such as Three Dog Night (Feb. 6-7) and Berlin (Feb. 19). - from SFgate
