Stooped was into it about a week ago.

Greatly enjoy the film clip, did not get in to the song at first viewing back then, but it is starting to grow on me a little bit, in the few times I have it heard it on OZ since.

      • Tedeschi Trucks did three songs from "Layla" on CBS This Morning to celebrate the Record Store Day release of their "Layla" tribute. Two were in the day ("Bell Bottom Blues" and "Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad") and this "Key To The Highway" was from nighttime for a crowd.

I saw most of this. I like the stripped down band, although it did take my ears a few moments to adjust to it.

Seeing them in Orange Beach. I was amazed how full it sounded considering there is only two guitars, keys and drums. A sax solo now and again woulda been nice but I didn't find it lacking at all. Gabe Dixon on keys is a fine singer so with Mike Mattison there, too, the background vocals were strong.

One thing was it emphasized Derek's strong rhythm chops and you could hear what Susan plays more, both things that don't get mentioned much.

                          • Tedeschi Trucks with their new 2nd drummer Isaac Eady, who apparently is from Pensacola by way of NOLA, joined by Nels Cline to break out another Allman Brothers classic last night at Red Rocks.

                            • Jackson Browne has put out a bunch of videos recorded during the downtime in the anteroom of his Groove Masters studio in Santa Monica. They are all excellent with various members of his band on them. The sound is great because they are using his studio and the filming is nice, too. Would that all pandemic "home videos" were of this quality.... They are scattered all over You Tube, well worth hunting down if you are a fan.

Ran into this today... I have always loved this song, the title track of one of his best later albums, often the song he opens his show with. This, like several of the others, features the great guitar work of Val McCallum. He and Greg Leisz, also on several of these vids, make a crazy good guitar section in his band. (Much as I love James Taylor, I would prefer 2 hours of JB with JT opening not the other way around...).
