This song about Vincent van Gogh(the painter) was written by Don McLeanand was released on the flip side of the 45RPM song“American Pie” in1971.Although "American Pie" is considered an anthem in modern music, perhaps this tribute to van Gogh is every bit as powerful!?!?
Don McLean wrote this song about Vincent van Gogh who never sold a painting while he lived.
His brother Theo supported him even after Vincent declined mentally. Whoever made this video deserves THANKS for selecting Vincent's paintings thatvery closely matches Don McLean's lyrics that pay tribute to this genius!Listen to the words as you view each painting.

Like most youtube music videos this one deserves to be viewed on a larger screen not some three inch smartphone.Last edited by 20/20; 08-21-2021, 09:38 AM.

This is from Deacon John at the block party he has played Uptown on Endymion Saturday for 50 years. The man is 80 years old and hasn't lost a thing. I have seen him a lot and he was as good as I have ever seen him. The variety of material played was amazing.
Driving over, it was a wild scene on Broadway with hundreds of Tulane kids partying. When I got to where Deacon was, it was like everyone who had been to the 1st block party was there, no one under 50 in sight. In fact, more than one person told me how he would play their dances as teenagers.

Actually this is what I meant to post. It was pure joy. I don't usually do video but this was too good. Sorry for the shaky cam I was late getting out as I couldn't see what I was doing. I apologize for me singing along, as well. I couldn't help myself. I love that song of Van's.
