  • I had really good oysters at J's Seafood Dock at The French Market. Didn't try the grilled but they smelled good.

    • Anyone eaten here? The menu, while pretty simple, also looks pretty good! http://www.shankcharcuterie.com/

          • We love Brigtsen's. We also make it a point to get oysters at Casamento's at least once while we're in town.

            • I'm curious if anyone has been to Chap's Chicken in Lakeview, formerly known as Chicken Sues? A good friend here was telling me his cousin and her fella bought the place last year.

              • I am a huge fan of Bar Tonique. A bartender friend recommended it to me a few years ago and it can't be beat. Took my crew there last weekend and we kept returning.

Certainly plan on going. I've heard wonderful things about the marrow bones. Isn't he competing on some chef show?

                          • Isaac Toups is currently on Top Chef on Bravo. It airs Thursday nights. He's doing pretty well but I'm not sure how long he's going to last.

Yes, if you're a carnivore, this is a great place for you.

They also make some very good cocktails, and Sweet Olive hipped me to an excellent off-the-menu beet martini.
