Very interested to learn more of St EOM myself. reading about it, I figured that his property Pasaquan was a place i visited long ago, but no, that was Howard Finster's Paradise Garden, also in Georgia, and also visionary as all hell.

My girlfriend and my buddy Johnny Woodstock (who used to have a late night show on WWOZ before he moved to Dallas) both said the same thing, that TTB captures lightning in a bottle. They sure did with that song. I also like the sorta "Bitches Brew"/electric Miles jam at the end of the song before, "Circles 'Round The Sun." Derek likes that kind of groove, something they often go into in the live show. Nice to have a "studio" version...

And it has led me to discover what Pasaquan is, a 7 acre property in GA full of psychedelic folk art by Eddie Owens Martin, who called himself St. EOM (as in Om.) Maybe folks from Georgia know of the place but it was new to me. Parts of the video, like when the band is standing in a circle during "Pasaquan," is filmed there and you see the motifs and colors popping up in it throughout. Kinda reminds me of when I had my mind blown discovering Walter Anderson in Ocean Springs, MS (and that wasn't just the mushrooms.)

I am sure the place will get a few more visitors now. I know I'd like to see it!

Have you heard of Pasaquan? Not sure what it is? Short answer: It's a unique folk art installation/collection in middle Georgia, just south of Columbus created by Eddie Owens Martin (St EOM.) But the long answer is much more interesting!

"Pasaquan" is an awesome instrumental, maybe Derek's finest hour. And maybe folks from Georgia know about it but I had never heard of the artist or his place they named the song after you see in some of the footage. (Kinda feels like when I discovered Walter Anderson.)

They did a “Mad Dogs and Englishmen” Joe Cocker tribute at Lockn one year. Complete with Leon Russell. Leon was way far past his prime but that is another story.
if you’re inclined can you see if you can dig it up? There was a professional version not someone with a iPhone.
I used to have a link as a “Favorite” on my computer. Never dreamed that it would be removed from access. It was on the official Lockn’ website.
    just thought I would ask.
They probably took it down when they used the footage to make that movie that came out last year, Learning to Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs & Englishmen. Leon was actually the unsung star of the movie. I saw it here at The Broadside and enjoyed it.

"Learning To Live Together: The Return of Mad Dogs & Englishmen" gives an exclusive look at the record-breaking rock reunion and the legendary original tour.

It's still there. I'm listening to it right now. I just made copies of the audio and the video. I am probably subscribed to their channel.

I like it . Five totally different songs, the last one, a 12+ min instrumental called "Pasaquan" being very Allman Bros like.

    1. Hear My Dear
    2. Fall In
    3. I Am The Moon

You maybe looking at that resale site the venue sends you to which I find strange (unless they get a cut somehow). On the official Live Nation site the lawn is soldout. I've never heard of lawn tix costing more anywhere.

I don't know this specific venue, but at other amphitheaters I've been at, there's nothing stopping a reserved ticket holder from walking back onto the lawn; the only checks are usually to stop lawn people from crashing the reserved seats.

The fifth and most ambitious studio project of TTB's storied career: I Am The Moon, an epic undertaking in four albums and 24 original songs. Inspired by a mythic Persian tale of star-crossed lovers and emotionally driven by the isolation and disconnection of the pandemic era, I Am The Moon totals more than two hours of new music and will be released in successive months beginning with I Am The Moon - I. Crescent, available on CD and digital, Friday, June 3rd.

In addition TTB will present an immersive visual companion to each audio release. The decision to sequence and release I Am The Moon in four distinct episodes came "when we started thinking of records we love," says Derek, citing Axis: Bold as Love, the 1967 LP by the Jimi Hendrix Experience. "It's 36 minutes long. That's the way to digest a record."

With that approach in mind, TTB will present I Am The Moon: The Films, combining studio and performance footage with atmospheric photography and imagery capturing the music’s kaleidoscopic textures. The corresponding films will debut three days prior to each audio release, offering our loyal community an early opportunity to digest each album in its entirety as a communal listening and viewing experience via the band’s YouTube channel. The first episode debuts on Tuesday, May 31st at 6:00pm Pacific/9:00pm ET.
