So perhaps a Biscuit is in your future too, Lord Horror?

Perhaps some will consider a band with Allman in its title to be a big name....but I'm not sure about that.

They also invariably showcased a Mississippi or Memphis artist, but I don't see any of those ( unless Keith Stone fits that description...I know nothing about him)
I decided a couple of weeks ago that I wouldn't be doing it this year, but last week I came to my senses and realised that I had to try to make it happen, so I'm hopeful of being there.
+1 on this. If I lived within driving distance I would be there for sure. Plenty of good music. Not sure if it's worth flying in from the west coast. I might end up being there.

Iím planning to go to Americana Fest in nashville in early September this year so this is almost certainly a no for me. I really enjoyed it last year so if time and resources allow I may be a last minute attendee

I figure we'll do CCBB this year rather than VOW; we found last year's VOW 's lineup last year not as good as 2017, and didn't like the Ponderosa venue: chilly and dank at night, sun-blasted in the daytime, too much of a hike between stages, just not geezer-friendly enough. We really enjoyed the 2017 VOW, held in Houma due to wet grounds at Tab's, more compact with shade available and closer parking. I also hoped this year to be able to catch some of King Biscuit on the way south, but I'm finding accomodations to be scarce and prohibitively expensive, dang. Any THs near Helena who'd want to rent out a room for three nights?

A bit underwhelming although I do like the Sat lineup om the St Charles stage. I saw Allman Betts during Jazz Fest and thought that they were very good. I look forward to their debut album coming out soon. Sonny Landreth is always worth seeing. I've only seen Jonathon Boogie Long play with Samantha Fish but I really like his Fish produced album and he can definitely play. Not sure why Erica Falls is playing as she is not a blues act but hey it's free.

Erica fits in just fine. They always have one or two soul acts (as well as gospel and r'n'b) and she is probably the leading soul singer in the city these days (all due respect to Miss Irma, of course).

Accomodation in Helena is invariably impossible to find.
Your best bet would be either Clarksdale, or the Isle of Capri casino hotel in Lula across the river from Helena.

Hard to camp like the old days. That's why I only drive down for the day. The adventurous who don't drink excessively might try the Tunica casinos.

                    Extremely unlikely this year...

It's not a zero-sum game. You can do both.

I will be there and I stay in Clarksdale which is about 40 minutes away. I did find a possible spot for you. I'm PMing you the link.

To those who do not yet know she is leaving Galactic to concentrate on her solo career.

Oooh, I wonder who they'll pick next. I'm hoping for Ms Charm Taylor or Princess Shaw. I guess Erica is following Shamarr and Corey Henry down the I need to see what I can do on my own path.
