Your best bet would be either Clarksdale, or the Isle of Capri casino hotel in Lula across the river from Helena.
Thanks to you, and again to funkkjunkie, but it looks like our best scenario will be to try arriving earlyish on Sat for the day, then hitting the road over to I-55 and a cheap motel for the night near Jackson. I did explore the Isle of Capri, $200+/night, nope. Most of the budget is for NOLA.

I think Sunday is the better day. Nothing wrong with Tucka and Kenny Neal. That's starpower if you ask me.

I'm happy for them both! They're both very talented and I'm sure Galactic may be slightly different without them, but each added their own touch to Galactic. I haven't seen much about Erica touring, but I know Shamarr is touring.
Check out his website when you have a chance, he's playing all around the country http://www.shamarrallen.com/ if he's nearby- try and get out to support one of our favorites!

Even a few shows in the Northeast
and WOW- look at this, a darker font, when did that happen?

Iím going to be in Cincy for work the day after Shamarr will be there. I wish I were there a day earlier to support our guy.

I believe Corey Henry just did not want tour do to family reasons. He does play with them sometimes when they play here in town. I liked Galactic when they had Cyril and Corey Glover from Living Color singing and even more back in the 90s when they use to jam much more when Houseman was still in the band. I'm still a fan but they are much more song oriented now.

Yup. Corey has two baby girls. Galactic is in my top five favorite bands but I was growing tired of the song oriented shows. I'm hoping to get back the song/instrumental ratio they had with Houseman but I realize that's probably wishful thinking.

Both of those ladies played with Galactic at their tantalisingly short l.m.f in-store. And both were great. Besides "Boyfriend", who was quite amusing, there was another vocalist who I couldn't make out because she was tiny.
Turned out to be Angelica "jelly" Joseph who sings often with Tank & The Bangas, but doesn't seem to be an official fully-fledged member of the band.
She is a quite phenomenal singer though, and she would be a great add for Galactic I.m.o.

I agree that $200 for that place is outrageous. But I guess it's one of the busiest weekends of their whole year.
Staxsun's Tunica idea is an option, but as he implies, don't even think about drinking. The cops in both Helena and Tunica don't mess around.

Erica will be touring with Galactic through September, but she'll miss some of their shows during that period. For instance, she's at Essence while Galactic is at High Sierra. When Galactic was in SF in March, Erica said she was planning to launch full scale touring with her band in 2020. I know that she would like to do a European tour.

See ya in Nashville. Also will stop by for some Blues & BBQ. Another great lineup.
