The one I will always miss the most is Stevie Ray Vaughan.
    And also Allen Woody.

I guess we can add Spencer Bohren to the list now.

I'm not sure, but did Memphis Slim ever play JF?
These old bluesmen have been warning us for years...

We should honor and remember those entertainers (and all others that we have loved) that have moved along to the next phase, but in addition take this as a reminder to appreciate those entertainers that are still with us and that we are still enjoying. Pat Sajak, Vanna White, Alex Trebek come to mind immediately. I love it when "The Wheel" flashes those sequences of Vanna from previous decades. My how styles have changed. She just keeps on keeping on.

NO Vanna White at JF, please!

I'll add Johnny Adams to this list. I miss Johnny, Snooks Eaglin, and Allen Toussaint the most.

I have more excuses than most for failing memory, but I would add:

                          Bob French
                          Tuba Fats Lacen
                          Hugh Masekela
Harold "Duke" Dejan of Olympia Brass

And of course we can't forget the oldest performing jazzman in NOLA for many years,

                          Lionel Ferbos

Four of the artists in the above list were in this 1988 performance, the first show I ever saw in New Orleans. https://youtu.be/m9S-4ab14sk

Yeah, '88 was my first year going to Fest and being on that Riverboat Cruise is still an all-time highlight!!
I can be seen in the video stage-side in a couple of spots! ; )
                                Amazing...and bitter sweet to watch.
