  • Playing Colorado Labor Day wknd, looking for house concerts or such along the way

Hey THs. Heading up for my first Colorado trip in 5 years. Rolling solo and then hooking up w my old friend Jon "Blackdog" Ridnell to play at the Gold Hill Inn Labor Day Picnic w his band the New Family Dog feat Jessica Jones and Sally Van Meter. And a few solo/duo dates.

Have open dates on the way up and back (Aug 25-29, 26-28 best dates, return avails Sept 6-9) and while I'm in Co. Would love to do some house shows for friends/fans along the way. Clubs are cool too, but I think with the short time frame house shows are better, and they tend to be the most fun for me as a solo. But I'm up for anything, and self contained w me own PA and equipment.

and big love to the THs that made this last northeast/midwest run so sweet!

    confirmed shows -

Jon "Blackdog" Ridnell, resident blues/rock guitar hero when I was a student in Ithaca 30 years ago, and a real good friend, put all of this together. Some is with him or his band New Family Dog.

Aug 30 St Julien Hotel, Boulder 630 to 930pm New Family Dog w Marc Stone
Aug 31 Train Cars Coffee, Nederland noon-3pm
Sept 1 Oskar Blues, Lyons 6-9 duo w Blackdog
Sept 2 Gold Hill Inn Labor Day Picnic 3-5pm. Marc Stone w New Family Dog feat. Jessica Jones and Sally Van Meter. Dikki Du and That Damn Sasquatch also on bill

    Sept 5 Motif, Colorado Springs

Gold Hill is an awesome place! Hasn't been ruined by tourism, ski resorts, or casinos..... just like 1850s in many ways
Oskar Blues in Lyons is great too. If you have time & like pinball (I do) Check out Pinball joint next door... lots of cool old machines to play
Needless to say, plenty of dispensaries everywhere & killa weed at great prices

Hey Jim, yeah I'm psyched to go back to Gold Hill. Played there once in 98 w CJ Chenier, and it was way too much fun. Looking forward to Lyons too, have some friends from there and I'm all about some pinball.
As for that reefer stuff, man, I dunno bro.... I mean, I guess I could try it if it's legal and all...

Caution thread drift....but you two brought up pinball. I attempted to post picture of my machine, a 1966 Gottlieb Mayfair but due to my lack of skills I could not get the photo to download. Look it up on the internet. Great machine. I much prefer the old analog (mechanical) varieties.

It should be easier to post photos on here, as lots of people I know are unable to do so, which is a bummer.

I have one of the first pinball machines with a digital display. Evil Knievel circa 75 or 76. Sadly, not operating at the moment.

Sorry.....Stone in the Rockies should be pretty cool.

Just got back and the happy hours at the dispensaries are great! They have morning and afternoon happy hours at some.
