  • E1 New Airport Bus To Canal @ City Park Ave

Cheap way to get into the city from the airport.

Beginning Wednesday, November 6, 2019, the E1 Veterans bus will service the new airport terminal. Click for details.

The Veterans route runs from Williams Blvd. and 25th Street in Kenner, along Veterans Boulevard and the Pontchartrain Expressway, to the intersection of Metairie Road and City Park Avenue in New Orleans. From this point, passengers can take RTA routes into New Orleans. This route connects with RTA’s 45-Canal Street, 27-Louisiana, and 91-Jackson-Esplanade buses and the 47-Canal Cemeteries streetcar.

Yes, I have taken it many times but they changed the buses as of tomorrow. Many people, even those who live here do not know how cheap it is to take the bus to the airport. The new bus does not go downtown like The E1 did but stops right at The Canal St Streetcar Line.

Actually, as I mentioned in the airport thread, the E1 will run two routes. One to Cemeteries. The other will get onto I-10 at Causeway (so express) to City Park Ave, then run down Canal to Magazine (detouring onto Poydras until the Hard Rock mess is cleaned up), and stopping at all major intersections on Canal, from Carrollton all the way to Magazine. That makes it more convenient for many mid-citizens, as well as visitors staying in hotels all along the Canal corridor.

Two buses. Even better! I can take either one.

Revised schedule is posted at https://jeffersontransit.org/route/e1-veterans/

Looks like the downtown route runs only on weekdays; weekends and holidays, only to City Park/Cemeteries.
Correction, they've updated the schedule online to show service on both E-1 routes seven days a week.

From Airport to Cemeteries is scheduled at about an hour, and about 50 minutes for the return route. Service roughly every 40 minutes.
From Airport to Magazine St. is scheduled around an hour and 15, and about 1:05 on the return. Service roughly every 40-60 minutes.

Yeah I saw that. Very convenient for me as I live near Jeff Davis @ canal St. I need to go to the airport on Thanksgiving morning. I think I'll Uber there and then try the new line on my way back.
