Praying for John. He has had his share of medical issues for sure. They need to get him on the Cloroquine and ZPac STAT. France just sanctioned it's use as 78 of 80 patients completely recovered after 5 days.

Yeah just saw this on FB. First his wife and now him. I really hope that he pulls through. It does not sound good.

Coincidentally, this one has been in increasing rotation for me lately, as I increasingly feel like I'm living inside my head:

Prayers that he and his wife can weather this one.

This is so good from Tom Piazza. Just like Prine's music, it will make you laugh one minute, cry the next.

                Great read. Thanks.

Indeed. I think there's something in my eye...

PS: I've driven convertible over that bridge he writes about in the article. I'm getting a knot in my stomach just thinking about it again.

SDubYa, please stop promoting the idea that hydroxychloroquine is some kind of cure.
There is essentially NO evidence of that being the case.

Most importantly, Fiona has posted that John is presently in "stable" condition. Very encouraging although far from being out of the woods. Reports indicate lots of twists and turns with this virus. So Hold On JP and come back to us!

Is the Ichan School of Medicine at Mount Sinai reliable enough for you?
its truly amazing how Trump spouting bullshit has turned the effectiveness, or lack thereof, of this malaria drug into a political issue.

He was misleading the public at every turn and downplaying the seriousness of this virus. One of the ways he did this was by telling people thay Hydroxychloroquine was some kind of miracle cure. Now, all of his mouth breathing supporters are pushing the narrative that this drug is a cure, when in actually there isnt a shred of evidence to support that. There are a small amount of anecdotal evidence that is essentially meaningless. I am alway open to changing my opinion, so I would be very interested in reading any direct source you can provide that shows the drugs effectiveness. Id like to see actual peer reviewed academic studies and not some fox news pundits giving their opinions.

Dr. Palese says that while two the drugs (hydroxychloroquine and chloroquine) have been effective treating influenza in a lab setting, the drugs are ineffective on humans fighting the #flu. He believes the same is true with treating #COVID19: https://t.co/NRowcfFQJ9
