Many still think they either just don't need it, the vaccines were rushed and are not safe, that there is a tracking device put in by Bill Gates or that this entire pandemic is a hoax. Many are the same idiots who are convinced that Donald Trump won last year's election by a landslide.

Feeling optimistic for Fall Festivals in New Orleans, as Covid numbers are down as vaccinations continue to increase, but can't help but wonder if it makes sense to hold TWO Jazz Festivals in 6 month time frame ?? As an attendee, once a year is enough as it takes a lot out of you, energy wise and financially.

I don't know about the reason for the seemingly coordinated timing, but over the past 48 hours at least a dozen of the largest European music festivals have announced their 2021 cancellations, which they of course spin as "Postponed until 2022" (in all cases that is after being "postponed until 2021" last year) but they will graciously hold your ticket Euros for you which theoretically can be put towards tickets for future festivals surely to come.
With every EU country having its own set of laws and rules regaurding travel restrictions, most which seem to change every couple of weeks, holding a successful festival over here is currently all but impossible, logistically speaking.
Looks like another very quiet summer in Europe, which makes the possibility of Jazzfest in October even that much more enticing, if things work out that way. I guess time will tell, but having tens of thousands of people fly into your city for a much anticipated celebration that gets cancelled at the last minute wouldn't be great for future business, so I don't see NOJ&HF leaving things up in the air if there is a realistic chance of that happening.Last edited by MormonMatthew; 03-31-2021, 11:14 AM.

There are usually not many shared acts between Bonnaroo and the JazzFest. But, I do see a handful of acts who will likely play the JazzFest in my estimation - Brittany Howard, Leon Bridges, Jon Batiste, Larkin Poe, Marcus King Band, Christone "Kingfish" Ingram, Bill Frisell, Jason Isbell, Lana Del Ray, Pinegrove, Greensky Bluegrass, Makaya McCraven, Waxahatchee, Janelle Monae, Flogging Molly.
