I have heard that song a few times on a couple of our community stations down here, and it reminds a bit of the sound from a period of the well known band from back in the day called Hunters and Collectors

I continue to be hopeful for 2022. The Hangtown Halloween fest in October (vaxxed admission only) seems to have come off without being a spreader event, but its size would be dwarfed by Jazzfest - or any other large fest. And honestly, if this Thanksgiving is any indication, people seem to have a limited grasp of how community transmission works, by which I mean that transmission from asymptomatic-AND-vaccinated, folks must be a larger problem than previously thought. If you like logic puzzles or enjoy probability questions then this is rich territory. Without really considering another potential variant rising from unchecked transmission, I'm getting a "what, me worry?" vibe from a lot of vaccinated and boostered people I know. I think they've started to mentally pass all the risks to the unvaccinated - to the point of considering mask-wearing as an imposition, and that's an unexpected turn. Jazzfest is going to have tough time dealing with that kind of resistance on both sides.

For myself, I'd be ecstatically happy if the world resumed. But it's not lost on me that, for the first time in years, we're booked at an outdoor brewery during the first weekend of Fest next year - and those weekends have always been sacrosanct in the past.
