The 25th anniversary Kate Wolf fest is apparently moving forward - and I thought I read that is the final year for the fest. The lineup is pretty much in the Strawberry-Americana sweet spot, though that Calexico set got my attention! I've always heard that can be a hot, dry, camping fest, but it'll be done & gone.

I bought a festival pass for Knoxville's Big Ear Festival in late March. The festival presents a very wide range of music under the rubric of "creative music"--everyone from John Zorn to Pres. Hall.

Now, does anyone know a good place to stay in Knoxville?

Solid lineup for Hogs, and great to see them back at the old location by UNO. (Nine months after the 2021 Hogs, I think I still have Plaquemines Parish mud on my shoes.).

              Me too. I attended in 2018 and 2019, it's a great festival.

The best area to stay in is in the vicinity of downtown Knoxville so you can walk to all the festival venues. However, hotels seem to be more expensive and more full this year, so I would advise making a reservation as soon as possible.

Tame Impala has leaked themselves as the Friday headliner of Buku

it's on their website's tour page, plus a bunch of major outlets

Agree. One of thier stronger lineups. Now....if they could just do away with the silly wristband to pay for crap, I might attend.

I've been wanting to go to Big Ears in Knoxville- and this year it lines up as a potentially great birthday trip for me....hmmmmm

I don't understand the visceral resistance to wristband payments?

If you prefer to use cash, you can bring cash to the fest, go to the wristband booth to turn the cash into wristband credits, and use that. And if you have credit left over at the end of the fest, there's a refund process. Yes, I suppose that can be a bit of a hassle, but it doesn't seem like such a big inconvenience that I'd skip the fest just to avoid it.

I just made a reservation at the Graduate Knoxville via the Big Ears website - the rate was affordable but they are out of single bed rooms.
