Hope you are correct about Son Volt. And if Wilco plays...maybe a Uncle Tupelo reunion ?? Although I hear Jeff and Jay don't get along that well.

As far as Van, saw him at Fest during his last stop at the Fairgrounds and it was great.

      • Steven Bernstein is releasing 'Manifesto of Henry-isms' on April 30th. Hope that means a day and/or night slot.

In 2019 I saw Van perform twice (JazzFest and at a small theater in Oxford England) and he was in really good form for both shows. I would be very happy to see him again at Jazzfest this year.

          • Sting is touring and has a gap during fest before coming to Philly for two rescheduled nights at the Met. Sting at the Met was the last big seated concert I’d been to before the pandemic. I also loved him last time he was at the Fairgrounds so I’d be happy to see him again.

That was great when he played around town a couple of years back. I'm a longtime fan of Sex Mob, Hot 9 with Henry and many other projects of his. Diaspora Soul is one of my favorite late night albums. He will be live on You Tube tomorrow night at the virtual Winter Jazz Fest in NYC: https://www.winterjazzfest.com/12022-virtual-night-4

That's great news! I loved them on the Fais Do Do stage but their fest sets are not nearly long enough. They have not played a regular show here in years so them playing The Civic is welcome news.

NEW ORLEANS… We are beyond excited to return for our first proper show in almost 10 years, Friday April 8th at the Civic Theatre!! After our much-beloved New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival plays we couldn’t wait a moment longer to see you again. The Mavericks in NOLA, a party for the ages! You won’t want to miss it Artist presale tomorrow, tickets on sale this Friday 1/21…LET’S GEAUX!!

The volume from that stage is no where near enough for the band - and then the lovely aroma.

I just saw them here in ATL a couple months ago - it was so so good. My wife and I truly Danced The Night Away. So much fun.

                  • Also, Low Cut Connie were on the 2020 lineup but not the 2021. I’d love to see them at the fairgrounds. They just being the best energy.

                      • Jason Isbell playing Jackson, MS the night before the first weekend. This JI junkie is crossing her fingers.

                        • Looks like we can count on Bela Fleck at Fest, as he has an extensive tour planned for all of April and beyond, with a 14 day break starting on April 29th after several Florida dates---It looks like he is currently not with the Flecktones, but he is playing with his wife, fellow banjo player Abigail Washburn.

I saw Bela and the Flecktones at the dread CAC during Jazzfest back in 1997, one of my favorite Fest memories....

We caught him and his wife (and young son) at Rockygrass 7/2021. Hoping for 2 or 3 servings of Bluegrass this year.

I remember it being kind of weird when Arcade Fire headlined one year, how was the crowd for that?
Funny JF Arcade Fire story; my wife and I were stopped by a bunch of hipsters asking us “which way is the gospel tent?” And I pointed the way. We made our way to AF set at JF and minutes in I realized, it was the band that stopped us! As they ended their set, they played through the crowd and created a huge following all lining up and AF led the crowd to the gospel tent. It was pretty cool.

I happened to visit Arcade Fire in 2011 at Acura by accident. They were fun and I enjoyed the show.
