My ritual used to be Red Volkaert Sat afternoon at the Continental, back Sun for Hey Bale, Tues David Grissom at the Saxson, a night at the White Horse or C-boy’s, but I’m prepared to be flexible. The pedal steel residencies at Sam’s Town Point sound like a hoot, and one of the last vestiges of “weird” Austin.
I actually just made it to Sam's for the first time in Nov as I had to rent a car to get to the Stones concert at the speedway so I tried to hit places I never seem to get to without one. Fun place with lots of nice people. I like Sagebrush a lot which is a throwback to old Austin. I hit a lot pf places when I'm there but usually am at C-Boy's and/or The Continental plus The Gallery at some point on most days when in town.

    • We here in Toronto Canada have gotten our boosters at a rapid rate.

We are hoping to be at the Fest 2022, but its not looking good if the State and so many of its residence are not even willing to keep themselves or Tourists safe.

Save yourself and your loved ones and get the shots.

We would love to be there!

What is the last day JF has to announce their plans for April/May?

Was it 90 days last year before they cancelled Fall JF?

Feb. 1, 2022 is 87 days before opening day. April 29.
I was wondering the same thing, when can the musician contracts be canceled?

        • New stuff to worry about? Flurona (twindemic of flu and corona) and Delmicron, a combination of Delta and Omicron variants
(and yeah, Daily Beast is not the most serious publiction)

In case you thought this year was going to be better, a pregnant woman in Israel just contracted the flu and coronavirus at the same time.

          • We are almost at the time of the lineup announcement later this month.

It must be frustrating for those who complain about the lineup to have the festival keep getting cancelled and so for their complaints to be invalidated.

            • Hoping JF is a go this year!!!!!! Just booked my Southwest flights with my travel credits from previous cancelled flights. Southwest Air dropped the prices this morning. Non-stop to MSY from Orlando. $99 there, $69 return.

              • Jet Blue prices also pretty darn good at the moment. A good time if you feel lucky.

Last year cancellation was on August 8 for the October 8 start. So I guess it's 60 days, which would be late February, meaning we may get the lineup by January 20-something and then have a whole month to complain about it before cancellation comes.

                  • Bruce Springsteen & E-Street Band had a Summer European Tour, followed by late Summer U.S. Stadiums, all booked and ready to go onsale, when Omicron hit. Announcement was delayed to January, but now the word from "insiders" is that the plug has been pulled, and no shows until at least 2023.

Fuckity Fuck! Now I really need Jazz Fest to happen, otherwise I can kiss what remains of my sanity goodbye. Might have to find some anti-vaccine protesters and punch them in the face.

                    • Don't get all wound up SoCalFestLover. I do not believe that Bruce Springsteen is representative of the performers around the country and world nor a worthy yardstick for use of predicting a 2022 Jazzfest occurrence. Somewhere here on this bored there was a reference to "The Boss" selling his musical library for a significant amount of money. He tours to satisfy an ego not because he needs to support a wife and family. There are thousands upon thousands of performers good and bad and in-between that will willingly risk their health and yours to perform at the fairgrounds/racetrack. In addition the promoters and businesses throughout New Orleans are starving so to speak for visitors $$. Jazzfest will occur. No need to push someone.

Bet it's pretty pricey to feed a show horse.

                          I strongly agree.

Our piss weak Govt and Tennis Australia have just given that Arsewipe Novax Djokovic a so called medical exemption to allow him to play in the forthcoming Australian Open.
Where everyone is meant to be fully vaxed, players staff and fans included.

Deadshit Novax of course has steadfastly refused to reveal his vaccination status.

I did stuff at the Australian Open for decades from when it started with its new look and stadium at Flinders Park Melbourne and I am shattered by this news.
And plan to protest this in some way. Maybe with 20 years of my access passes hanging around my neck whilst wearing and showing off some vintage Open Merch.

Melbourne has had longer lock downs than anywhere else in the Western World and very strong other restrictions to combat Covid.
These in the most part have been met by the resigned fact that that they were needed to help stop hospitals getting over run.

Now just as we are starting to get steamrolled by the African variant of Covid they grant an exemption to this Turd.
And they refuse to divulge the reasons for it. What does this non explained decision say to the people who have done it hard for so long?

No doubt the Freedumbs and anti vaxers will now adopt Novax as their deadshit poster boy and I fervently would like to punch all of them in the head

Several posters on Backstreets.Com. Not random people, those who have had accurate info in the past, and who leaked several intended dates in Europe for this Summer. They knew the specific date the tour announcement was coming, and it was literally right after Omicron was named, and everyone was starting to freak out. The announcement was pulled 24 hours prior to when it was going to happen.

It sounds like most of the venues cannot guarantee there won't be government restrictions on capacity is the reason for the decision.
