Brass passes are $800 this year.

As much as I would love to support WWOZ, this still works out to $330pp more than the early bird weekend passes for both weekends.
      That's significant....

For the Oct '21 fest, the $200 wristband fees were $16.83 plus a $15 per order shipping fee.

I didn’t realize that. Will edit.

Help me out here swag or anyone else. For years and years I have gone back and forth between a Brass Pass or just a regular ticket. I am old and memory is bad but I was thinking that the tickets were cheaper when I just walked up to the ticket center on Poydras adjacent to the Superdome. swag?

In pre-pandemic times, you could buy tickets in person at the Dome or Smoothie King box office (it varied). You would pay the then-current face price, but lower fees than for online purchases, and no per order or mailing fee. Recently, those box office fees were $5 for cash, or maybe $7(?) for card purchases. The in person purchases were not available for the Fall '21 fest. And the box office didn't sell wristbands, only single day GA tickets.

What they do this year remains to be seen.

Thanks swag. Exactly as I remembered except for that pandemic reference. Now I have to ponder. Brass Pass has just gone beyond my reach unfortunately.

The difference for the single day and all weekend wristband were significant. I LOATHE the festival wristbands and get them put on verrrrry loosely and put in my pocket. Hoping that works out here. Ugh!!

Is anyone that got an early bird/advance wristband for one of the canceled fests and got a refund going to buy them again? It's nice to save a few bucks, but I don't like the non-transferable part. I guess it shows the organizers the level of early interest in going and support? I remember hearing sales for the fall '21 attempt at a Fest were soft.

I canceled my 2021 wristbands, just not wanting to deal with the uncertainty. Those were $200, so in hindsight, seeing today's info, I'd have been better off keeping them. But I'll probably go ahead and get the 2022 wristbands. I can't imagine skipping a day of fest, especially this year, so if I can save a few bucks, why not. But that's me, not everyone is such a fest fanatic.

Someone please call my doctor. I'm looking at 2nd weekend Grand Marshal.
Total $1677 drive out price. I can do 12 days of JF (2 travel days) for less than $1677.
Telluride Bluegrass, Telluride Blues, Rocky Grass plus other festivals all for less than
$1677. Just think, for $1677 I can be 20/30 feet closer to the stage. Maybe not
this year. The fees for Grand Marshal are $77. The first year we went to JF tickets
                        were $6.

                          Yeah, it's expensive.

                          I've never bought one.

But I think part of the appeal is that you can get close to the band without camping out all day. Yes, the rail spots in the GA area are right behind the GM VIP, but if you want that rail spot for a big headliner, you need to get there early, stay all day, team up with friends for bathroom runs, and fight thru the SRO crowds to get back. With GM, you can enjoy the other stages all day long, knowing you can still get close later when your headliner starts.

I've bought them there for years. Seems silly to but tix through the mail for an event blocks away from where we live. I never bought any Fall fest tix as I never thought that it was really gonna happen.

I don't plan on buying one but how do the wristbands work? Do you get one for each day or keep it on for the entire weekend?

The GA weekend pass is a single wristband that you keep on all weekend, to make it non-transferrable and non-sharable. Whether you could put it on loosely enough to slip it off and back on remains to be seen. Also, it does not include re-entry privileges.
