Gary Clark Jr is also on Shorty's guest list. He would be a worthwhile replacement, at least in my eyes.

I suck at predictions, but Quint could run the play he used when the Stones and Stevie Nicks dropped out in 2019: Widespread Panic. Next leg of their tour starts May 6.

Fair point. I also agree that the benefit of The Eagles playing is drawing the crowd away from the stages with the good music.

I seem to recall, subject to correction by someone with more knowledge, that there was some hard feelings and a bit of the sense of disrespect on the part of Widespread as a result of how that deal played itself out.

First time post... what about Jon Batiste? I thought it strange he is featured on the poster and not performing. Just a thought.

Fest would have booked him in a heartbeat, but he has an unavoidable conflict with a major project in NYC.

Here is the "Jon Batiste isn't coming" explanation.

My thoughts exactly although there is nothing special going on at that time slot that I'm dying to see. I'd love to see The Eagles from 45-50 years ago but not this version which sounds nothing like the original band. Hopefully they get someone who we will all be into hearing.

I wouldn't mind terribly if it's someone only I want to see.

Someone upthread suggested Bo Diddley. I saw him at the Fest (and in a NYC club), and he was amazing. As I mentioned in a different thread, I recently bought a new stereo system and have been playing my old vinyl. At the top of the list of people I'd like to see at Fest based on who I'm spinning at home is Warren Zevon. I saw him a couple of time at The Paradise in Boston; he was a great performer and would have been great at Fest.

Seeing SRV and BB King on the Riverboat President at my first Fest in 1988 literally changed my life and is a significant contributor to my living in New Orleans today. I don't think either is currently on tour, but maybe that means they're available.

Bo Diddley died in 2008. I can name dozens of acts I'd like to see but I'd imagine they want some super popular rock band/BNA as they'd be the big headliner on that day where there are no others. Poor Quint, he just cannot catch a break.
