Danceteria was the bomb. They filmed the club scenes from "Desperately Seeking Susan " there. Only club I went to in NYC in the later club era (late 90's very early 00's) was Twilo.

We went there a few times even though it was not really our scene. We headed right to the Ladies Rest Room Lounge, sat down and started doing blow and made new friends in seconds. Those were the days. We were more Hurrah's, Peppermint Lounge, Danceteria, Club 57, CBGB's, Max's Kansas City, Mudd Club, Great Gildersleeves etc fans.

Very cool. My brother worked at one of the chic night clubs in New York in the late 70s/early 80s and was plugged into the scene. He arranged once for me and a friend to go to that Studio 54 back in the day. Quite the experience.

I've since been to see Cabaret as dinner theatre, and it was a quite different thing

    Cheers.

    started a topic Studio 54

    Studio 54

I was always fascinated and entertained by the going's on and news related to Studio 54 and the associated celebrities. Many here on the "bored" are probably neither old enough nor interested enough nor geographically located in a position where it had any resonance. For those however that are like me and sort of kind of kept tract even just a bit the link below just continues with that crazy story.
